U16 Girls Football Buncrana 3-5 Convoy 5-11
On Tuesday our U16 girls had a home game against Convoy. The girls got off to a very slow start, and were 1-3 down in the first five minutes.
They came alive and responded with a couple of points. The game was very open and end to end however we lost one of our girls to the ‘sin bin’ and Convoy took advantage of us being reduced to 14 players; the half time score reflected that, with Convoy leading 5-7 to 2-5.Â
The second half was a much cagier affair with us only scoring one goal, and Convoy only scoring four points.
Lucy Jackson had the misfortune to dislocate a finger and despite showing determination, she had to come off.
Eimear Clerkin took her position in the full back line and did a great job. We had some bad luck on the day and conceded two penalities however the ever relaible Vanessa Nelson came to the rescue and for the second penalty – she made a great save and cleared the ball. Our scorers were, Bernie Devlin (1-0), Lia Gallanagh (1-0), Asling Browne (1-0), Eimear Clerkin (0-1), and Sophie Roe (0-4).
Both teams played a good fair game, but unfortunatly we had to play a third of the game with 14 players which ended, 3-5 to 5-11 in Convoy’s favour.Â
U13 Boys  Buncrana 2-3  St Eunans 0-15
Buncrana held the St Eunans boys off well at the start without score for the first ten minutes. Going in at the first half St Eunans had a big advantage of 10 to 1 with the wind on their backs. Buncrana came out fighting and scored two goals and another two points. They hey didn’t stop working hard till the end but a strong st Eunans won by 15 to 9
U11 Boys
Our Under-11 boys welcomed Noamh Padraig to The Scarvey on Tuesday night. A great display from our lads but unfortunately not enough to win. The final game of the group is away to Doire Colmcille on Tuesday.
U9 Boys.
Our under-9 boys played their final group game in the Inishowen Tournament on Saturday against Noamh Colmcille finishing up a draw, which was enough to secure them a place in the semi final.  Due to be played on Tuesday 29th September
