Donegal Hurling
It was a great testament to hurling in Buncrana when a total of 13 Scarvey hurlers were actively involved in Donegal squads who achieved remarkable success in the U15 and U16 All Ireland competition on Saturday past.
These young lads were on the road on Saturday from as early as 5am.
Niall O Doherty, who captained the County U15s, was assisted over the season by Gavin Kelly, Matthew Wilson, ÓisÃn Mc Daid and John Vaughan.
In Carrick-on-Shannon their team, all under fifteen, came a very close second in the U16 All-Ireland ‘C’.
Captain Dylan Duffy, in Cusack Park, Mullingar, led the County U16 team to the County’s first ever ‘B’ final where they put up a remarkable performance against the victors, Meath.  Their success in reaching the final can be gauged when teams like Wicklow, Derry, Down and Westmeath had already fallen by the wayside.
Well done to all of the following who played in Cusack Park:  Dylan Duffy, Fiachra Mac Lochlainn, Paul Tourish, ÓisÃn Grant, Ben Doherty, Darran Connolly and Jack Callaghan.  Commiserations to PJ McCarron who missed out through injury.
  Senior Ladies  Buncrana 2 13  Gweedore 2  7
Well done to our Senior Ladies who now play in the Junior A Final this Sunday.  All support welcome.  Details, when known, will posted on social media.
 U16 Football
Our U16 Footballers made it two from two in the Championship with Monday night’s win over Naomh Padraig in the Scarvey.  The boys started in a very determined fashion and maintained that over the hour.  Early points were added with a well taken penalty from Odhran Mullan.  A second 3 pointer before half time put the boys in a commanding position and they controlled the second half to run out worthy winners.  A win in the final group game away to Milford on Monday night will make us group winners and a place in the Northern Championship Semi-Finals.  Best of luck boys!
 U16 Hurling
The club’s u16 hurlers face Ballyshannon at home on Thursday in the league Semi Final.  All support welcome.  The squad will train on Wednesday night at 6.30pm sharp.
U13 Girls
U13 girls opened their County league campaign at home to Muff on Saturday.  The girls put in excellent performances all over the field but were beat by 4points.  Great effort by all girls involved.
 U10 Hurlers
Well done to our U10 hurlers who took part in the blitz in Convoy on Sunday.  Thanks to Setanta who organised the U10 blitz.  Buncrana were up against Aodh Ruadh, Four Masters, Setanta, St Eunans, Letterkenny Gaels, Burt, and Carndonagh.  The final blitz takes place on the 27th September.  Training on Sundays, 11am, all welcome.
U9 Football
Our U9s got their tournament off to a cracking start on Wednesday night with a great win over Doire Colmcille.  However, this wasn’t the case yesterday in Muff against a bigger and more physical Naomh Padraig team.  Well done to all involved, next up Burt at home on Saturday.
