DYLAN Browne-McMonagle had a fine 8/1 winner at Down Royal this afternoon.
The Letterkenny teenager, who had a third-placed finish at Ascot for Joseph O’Brien yesterday, won the Mount Charles Handicap.
Aboard Jarlath Fahey’s Prime Chief, an 8/1 chance, Browne-McMonagle had three-quarters of a length to spare on Right Turn (5/1).
Browne-McMonagle and Prime Chief held on well at the end.
Fahey said: “Dylan gave him a brilliant ride. He knew it was his first run back and the gap came at the right time. He did it nicely and he is a nice horse in that level.”
Yesterday at Ascot, Browne-McMonagle was third in the Sandringham Stakes Handicap on the O’Brien-trained Messidor (14/1).
