BRETT MCGINTY will be in action on Friday in the World Youth Championships in St Petersburg, Russia, after the draw was made this morning.
McGinty will meet Kiattisak Promchuay of Thailand in a preliminary bout on Friday at the Sibur Arena.
It is a tough draw for McGinty.
Should he get over his Thai opponent on Friday, the Oakleaf ABC welterweright would then have to face European Youth bronze medalist Adnreu Csemez of Slovakia in the last 32.

“It’s a tough draw, but I’ll just take it one fight at a time,” McGinty said.
43 boxers will compete in the welterweight division, including the Irish captain McGinty, who is a previous European Schoolboys bronze medal winner and a Commonwealth Youth Games silver medal winner.
This is his first time to compete in a World Championships.
