BRENDAN O’DONNELL HAS finished in tenth position in the hammer throw final at the European Youth Athletics Championships in Tbilisi.
The Lifford Strabane AC man was in action in this afternoon’s final and threw out to 68.50 metres.
O’Donnell had reached out to 70.06m in qualifying on Wednesday.
Today’s final was won by Ukraine’s Myhaylo Havrylyuk who made it to 82.26m.
Britain’s Jake Norris was second with 79.20 and Ragnar Carlsson of Sweden was third with 75.71.
O’Donnell finished seventh last year at the European Youth Olympic Festival, also in Tbilisi, after being inhibited by a bout of food poisoning before competing.
