Jacob Borg scored his first Finn Harps goal as Ollie Horgan’s men dumped Premier Division Bray Wanderers out of the FAI Senior Cup.
Bray Wanderers 1 Finn Harps 3 (after extra time)
The Maltese international netted in the 112th minute at the Carlisle Grounds as Harps came from behind to defeat the Seagulls in extra time.
Borg riffled a low effort past Evan Moran to send Harps into the next round at the expense of the troubled Premier Division basement side.
Harps are now unbeaten in seven games in League and Cup.
Bray hit the front when Ger Pender thumped home for the first goal past Ciaran Gallagher in nearly two months.
Bray held on until Harps drew level not long past the hour mark when Sam Todd struck gold.
Ciaran Gallagher saved from Byron O’Gorman and Gareth Harkin was off target as both teams had chances of sneaking a win in normal time,
Harps seized the initiative early in extra time as in-form Mikey Place put the visitors in front.
And Harps showed their worth when Borg managed to find a way to put the tin hat on the result.
Bray’s woes deepened when Darragh Gibbons was sent off in the closing stages.
