BONAGEE UNITED MOVED to joint-top of the Ulster Senior League with victory at Fanad United on a perfect day for football in Traigh-a-Loch.
Fanad United 2-4 Bonagee United
Bonagee (pictured above) started the stronger in this game and took the lead in the seventh minute. When a free was awarded out on the right, Darren Lynch swung a dangerous ball into the box, the ball was fumbled by Oran Blaney and Ryan McFadden was on hand to place the ball into the bottom corner.
Bonagee could have extended their lead three minutes later when following a superb cross into the box from Gareth Breslin, Aidan McLaughlin saw his header crash off the crossbar.
Fanad started to come into the game a bit more gaining plenty possession without troubling Ferry in the Bonagee goal. In the 27th minute Fanad were left absolutely furious with the referee when Keelin McElwaine burst into the box only to be hauled to the ground by Breslin, yet somehow the ref failed to point to the spot.
Bonagee scored their second goal on the stroke of half time. Chris Moran took a free kick out on the right which was met by Aidan McLaughlin, whose first time flick deceived Blaney and rolled into the corner.

Fanad pulled one goal back three minutes later through substitute Michael McGinley. His first effort brought a fine save from Eugene Ferry in the Bonagee goal but McGinley was alert to the breaking ball to finish.
At times in the second half the game threatened to boil over as tempers flared. It all came to a head in the 90th minute when a scuffle involving a large amount of players resulted in Chris Moran of Bonagee and Marty McAteer of Fanad receiving straight red cards.
