BONAGEE United and Swilly Rovers cross swords in the 2019 Colin Breslin Cup final tonight at The Diamond Park, Ballyare (kick-off 7.30pm).
The final is one of the showpiece games in the Donegal Youth League season.
The teams met in the League late last month with Bonagee (pictured above) coming out on top as goals from Ryan Creevy, Jack Murphy, David Boakie and Jason Blake gave them a 4-0 win.
However, finals are an entirely different proposition and Swilly, under the fledgling management of young Jamie-Lee Blaney, will hope to reclaim a Cup they last won with a win over Drumkeen United in 2016, a game that also took place at The Diamond Park.
Swilly defeated Lagan Harps 3-2 in a gripping semi-final at Orchard Park in early September. Swilly had to come from 2-0 down with Tyler Durning’s double and another goal by Evan Hewitt sealing the Lennonsiders’ place in the final.
Bonagee, for their part, defeated Eany Celtic 4-1 in their semi-final. Peter Carr netted twice with David Boakye and Jason Martin also registering. In the previous round, Caolan Maltha was the hat-trick hero in a win over Milford.
The Dry Arch side is managed by Paul Higgins and can call on the likes of Carr and Jack Murphy who have featured in the Ulster Senior League.
Tonight’s game will be played to a conclusion with extra time and penalties if necessary.
