BONAGEE UNITED, Glenea United – both in the Under-14s – and Cappry Rovers’ Under-12s advanced in their respective SFAI National Cups today.
In Monaghan, Jack Murphy was Bonagee United’s match winner against Monaghan United.
Murphy bagged the only goal of the game in the second half to send them through to the next phase.
There was little to separate the teams throughout, but Murphy settled the tie with a splendid strike.
They now meet Glenea United to see who advances from the Ulster region.
Glenea overcame Cappry Rovers 3-1 with Owain Duggan, Keenan Gallagher and Blake McGarvey on target.
Cappry’s Under-12s are into the national side of things after they defeated Cockhill Celtic 3-1 this afternoon. Luke McGlynn, Mark Mbuli and an own goal fired Cappry into the next round.
At Under-16 level, Keadue Rovers drew 1-1 with Monaghan United. Jack Doherty’s netted for Keadue, but the Central Park boys lost out on penalties.
With five minutes remaining in normal time, Keadue had a chance to win it, but Daniel Ward saw his penalty saved.
Letterkenny Rovers have also qualified for the national stages in the Under-13 competition.
