Donegal Boston begin their Championship campaign on Sunday when they take on Wolfetones on Sunday in Canton.
Micheál Carroll has jetted into Boston for the summer having decided to take a break from inter-county football and the Gaoth Dobhair man will be one of the main protagonists as Donegal Boston look to start with a win.
Buncrana’s Padraic McLaughlin is the Donegal Boston manager this year and the Inishowen man has plenty of Donegal blood through the squad’s veins.
McLaughlin is aided by Downings man Declan Scott and Malin’s Paul Martin McDaid.
Killybegs’ Jason Noctor is the Donegal Boston captain for this campaign and is joined by the likes of Carroll, Urris duo Sean Doherty and Darren Grant and Naomh Muire’s Hugh ‘Yank’ Boyle, who is the goalkeeper.
Galway’s Liam Silke, the AIB GAA Club Footballer of the Year, is another who has touched down in Boston and been recruited by McLaughlin.
Silke has won a SIgerson Cup with UCD and an All-Ireland club title with Corofin this year and will bring considerable class to the Donegal Boston ranks.
“It’s a big year for the club,” McLaughlin says.
“We’re aiming for all three teams to be pushing hard to bring home silverware.”
