Letterkenny’s Andrew McGeever helped Killester to a dramatic win over UCD Marian in the Hula Hoops Pat Duffy National Cup final tonight.
McGeever, a former Letterkenny Blaze player, was part of the Killester team which triumphed at the National Arena in what proved to be a hugely absorbing game.
It was end to end stuff but Killester finally managed to do enough to squeeze out their rivals.
McGeever scored three points in a 66-63 win at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght in the TG4-televised final.
The game brought together the runners-up of the last two years and it was Killester, the beaten finalists in 2017, who came out on top. UCD Marian had won the two other meetings of the teams in the League this season/
One of the first things Andrew did after the victory over the reigning champions was to embrace his parents Ian and Aileen and the rest of his family who made the journey to Dublin to support him.
