Ballyare brothers Oisin and Conor Orr recorded a stunning sequence of results on Friday.
While Oisin Orr recorded a 21/1 double at Dundalk, his younger brother Conor had a remarkable 2,991 /1 treble at Limerick.
Conor Orr’s day began with a knockout blow, winning the 12.15 race in Limerick on the 33/1 outsider Rocky’s Silver.
The James Dullea-trained Rocky’s Silver settled in the mid-division, but took a closer look three from home and pushed along to take the lead. In the end, Orr had three-and-a-half lengths to spare from Lill Smith.
“Conor gave him an exceptional ride,” Dullea said. “I had been riding him wrong in point-to-points and I thought he was better with horses coming at him. I’ll take this surprise!”
Conor Orr followed that up by winning on 7/1 shot Just Get Cracking, also for Dullea.
Coming from the year, Orr and Just Get Cracking beat Antimatter for the win by three-quarters of a length.
And the amazing treble was brought up on 10/1 Killacolla in the novice hurdle.
Killacolla erred coming up to the second last hurdle, but won by a length and a half from Guido Reine and Cairnhill.
In Dundalk, Oisin won on 7/4 joint favourite Thebeastfortheeast for trainer Richard John, triumphing by almost a length from Grandmaster Flash, under the direction of Shane Crosse.
Oisin was also successful on the 7/1 Alfredo Arcano for David Marnane. Alfredo Arcano romped home in the six furlong race, taking the win from 11/1 shot Smart Stinger.
