The annual Ballyare 10k road race and 5k walk takes place this Friday evening with local charities set to benefit.
The popular event is this year in aid of the North West Special Olympics Club, Letterkenny and Acquired Brain Injury Ireland.
The walk begins at 7pm while the 10k road race gets underway at 7.30pm, both starting at Carr’s of the Diamond.
Acquired Brain Injury Ireland is one of the recipients. Their mission is to enable people with neuro-rehabilitation needs to lead meaningful lives in the community by providing personalised quality rehabilitation and support.
The other is North West Special Olympics Club, Letterkenny, who next year have 14 athletes going to compete in the All-Ireland Games in Dublin. The funds from this event will go a long way to helping those athletes.
