Rachael Darragh and Josh Magee were celebrating at the FZ Forza Irish Senior National Championships at the weekend.
At the Baldoyle Badminton Centre, Darragh won her second women’s singles title in a row while Magee scooped his fourth men’s doubles title in succession.
Darragh, a niece of the famous Magee siblings, showed her worth over the weekend.
Only twice did she allow her opponent get double-digit points against her. In the final, Darragh defeated Kate Frost 21-15, 21-9 as the young Raphoe woman powered to victory.
Darragh will go to the Commonwealth Games this year having been selected as part of the Northern Ireland team that will compete in the Gold Coast.
Magee teamed up with Paul Reynolds in the men’s doubles and they defeated Stuart Lightbody and Sam McKay 21-16, 21-10.
Josh had previously played with his brother Sam.
However, Sam missed out here through sickness, also meaning that he and Chloe Magee couldn’t compete in the mixed doubles.
Josh Magee also reached the men’s singles, but he lost out 21-12, 21-13 to Nhat Nguyen.
