Roma McLaughlin and Shelbourne are back in Women’s National League action this weekend after their Champions League exploits ended yesterday.
McLaughlin played every minute of Shelbourne’s Champions League group, including a 3-1 win over Linfield at Seaview yesterday.
Shelbourne drew 0-0 with both Medyk Konin of Poland and Finland’s PK-35 Vantaa, meaning they finished second in the group.
However, the five-point haul wasn’t enough to progress as the best second-placed team from the ten groups.
Shels took the lead against Linfield through Fiona Donnelly, while Megan Bell equalised for Linfield.
Late in the game, Kate Mooney and Niamh Prior bagged decisive goals.
Midfielder McLaughlin, from Greencastle, will again be to the fore this weekend when Shels take on Wexford Youths in the WNL.
