JOE Duffy will make his return to the octagon next month, it has been confirmed.
Duffy will be back in action on July 18 when he fights at UFC Fight Night 173.
Duffy (16-4) will meet Joel Alvarez (16-2) from Spain in Abu Dhabi.
The UFC will be holding four events in three weeks in a lockdown ‘safe zone’ – Fight Island, aka Yas Island in Abu Dhabi – which will see fighters flying in from all over the world.
Duffy has lost his last two fights and hasn’t been in action since a March 2019 loss to Marc Diakiese in London. Then, Diakiese defeated Duffy via unanimous decision.
Duffy’s previous out was a TKO loss at the hands of James Vick at UFC 217 in New York in November 2017.
UFC President Dana White confirmed the full cards for the upcoming shows, including the July 18 event which will see Duffy-Alvarez as part of the preliminary bouts.
