MARTIN REGAN’S ST COLUMBA’S GLENTIES side survived a second half onslaught from Magh Ene Bundoran in the Donegal Vocational Schools’ senior final this afternoon in Ballyshannon.
St Columba’s used the elements in their first half to go in nine points up at the break but were on the backfoot for the second as Magh Ene pummeled forward. However, Regan – who this week announced he is stepping down as Naomh Conaill manager – was delighted to see his team hang on to win 2-6 to 0-11.
“The boys put their bodies on the line,” Regan said. “The goals stood to us. When teams get a drive it’s hard to stop. We were hanging on at the end.”
