SINEAD JENNINGS has told of her delight at finally getting the chance to fulfill her Olympic dream.
Jennings and Claire Lambe finished third in the B final in the lightweight women’s double sculls at the World Rowing Championships in Aiguebelette, France, on Saturday morning.
The 38-year-old from Hawthorn Heights in Letterkenny has long held ambitions of taking part in the Olympics – but she will get the chance next summer in Rio.
“It’s really something special,” she told Donegal Sport Hub.
“This is my dream. If we hadn’t done this, it would be absolutely awful.”
Her sister Caitriona competed at the 2012 Olympics in the women’s marathon.
