SEEING HE WAS appointed in September and only got his hands on his players in Janaury, Shaun Paul Barrett has had to be patient since taking over as Donegal minor manager.
This afternoon in Ballyshannon, he got his first taste of competitive action as Donegal got off to a flier to lay the foundations early and see off Fermanagh 2-11 to 0-8 in Group B of the Ulster Minor League.
“We start in January with these lads and they’ve worked hard every night they came in,” Barrett said. “they’re starting to come together and gel but we’ve work to do. We’ll get back at it now before Tyrone in two weeks time. We’ve a panel of 28 and players are coming in, anyone coming in we expect to contribute.”
