SHAUN PAUL BARRETT guided Donegal to a third Ulster Minor League title on Saturday in Maghera.
It was a dramatic conclusion with Aidan McLaughlin from Naomh Padraig in Muff scoring a goal two minutes from time to defeat Tyrone 3-9 to 1-14.
“We were a point down with two minutes to go and Aidan took the goal really well,”manager Barrett said afterwards.
“I’d be happy with a lot of the parts of the performance. The one disappointment was the shooting but they can play football too.”
Donegal now await to take on the winners of the preliminary round tie between Antrim and Fermanagh in the Ulster Minor Football Championship.
“We’re delighted today to have won the league but it’s never about the league,” Barrett added. “We’re looking ahead to the Championship now on May 29. We have a lot of competition for places and that’s good.”
Barrett spoke to Charlie Collins afterwards …
