SEAN MCVEIGH SCORED 3-6 this afternoon for Letterkenny Institute of Technology at O’Donnell Park to seal their tickets to Fitzgibbon weekend.
McVeigh’s haul helped the Port Road students to a 4-7 to 3-6 win over University of Ulster Magee in the semi-final of the Independent.ie HE Hurling Championship Division 3 All-Ireland Championship.
Paddy Lennon’s team will face Robert Gordon University – the British champions – from Aberdeen in the Padraig MacDiarmada final at Cork Institute of Technology on Saturday morning.
“We put in a good shift so we’re delighted to be going to Cork,” McVeigh said. “All year we had a serious spread of scores. We’ve loads of top class hurlers. Hopefully we get a good enough performance on Saturday morning. It’s the first time I’ve got the chance to go to Fitzgibbon weekend.”
