RYAN MCKINLEY HEAPED the praise on the ‘character’ his his Naomh Colmcille side after their extra-time win in a helter-skelter Under-21 ‘B’ semi-final against Killybegs. They came from eight points down in the opening ten minutes to almost win the game late in normal time before they came good in the extra period to earn a 5-11 to 3-12 win.
“The character was second to none,” McKinley (pictured above playing for Naomh Colmcille’s senior team) told Donegal Sport Hub.
“We battled back, we got a goal and when Killybegs got another one, we could have dropped the heads, but the character came through and they kept the heads.
“They were outstanding and they battled to the end. This game means nothing – next week is the big one. Hopefully we can bring a bit of silverware back into the parish.”
