RAPHOE LADIES REMAIN on course for possible promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history.
A 4-2 win over Ballyclare sets up a crunch final Senior 1 game against Rainey in two weeks’ time.
The winners will finish second in Senior 1 and will advance to play Portadown in a play-off to see who plays in the Premier League next season. A draw will suffice for Raphoe, who have the better goal difference.
It’s been some campaign for Raphoe, who are in the first term in Senior 1.
“We couldn’t really ask for much better,” coach Richard Tinney told Donegal Sport Hub.
“This was our first time in Senior 1. The girls have done really well and it’s exciting times for us here. They’ve worked hard all season and have had a great season.
“It’s been a hard season, but fingers crossed we can get to the Premier League.
“The game against Rainey will be a Cup final – and it’s winner takes all. It’s hard to say to a team to go out for a draw.”
