THE 2016 DONEGAL Marathon was won by Rosses AC’s Ciaran McMonagle, with the women’s event won by Caitriona Jennings in a course record.
Olympic rowing finalist Sinead Jennings won the women’s half marathon, making it a double for the Jennings household, with Pauric Breslin of Letterkenny AC won the men’s half marathon.
McMonagle finished in 2 hours, 41 minutes and 15 seconds, to win from Conor Robinson (2:51:51) and Christopher Deane (3:02:58).
Breslin came home in 1:15:24, beating Gavin Crawford of Letterkenny 24/7 Triathlon Club (1:17:18) and Michael Black (1:17:39).
Caitiona Jenning’s 2:53:14 is a new course record, while Sinead Jennings finished in 1:23:40.
