PETER MORAN goes into the new Ulster Senior League season aiming to bring Bonagee United into a position where they can challenge for honours.
The Derry native has added Gareth Wade and Aidan McCauley to his panel ahead of the new season, which kicks off on Sunday afternoon.
The contractors will pull up to Dry Arch Park in the coming weeks to begin the installation of six floodlight pylons at a venue regarded as the best in the League.
“Look at the facilities here – Bonagee are going the right way and we’ve got to reward it on the pitch,” Moran told Donegal Sport Hub.
[adrotate group=”38″]“We need to learn to be winners on the field. It’s difficult because they’re so young. I, as a manager, need to reward that.
“People are raising money to put up floodlights – I need to reward that on the pitch.”
On the addition of goalkeeper Wade, formerly of Kildrum Tigers and, most recently, Swilly Rovers, Moran said: “Gareth is a massive signing for us and it says to people that we’re looking to do something here.”
[adrotate group=”70″]Moran has also taken over the League’s representative team for the FAI Intermediate Interprovincials, but first on his mind will be attempting to get a good start at club level.
He said: “I believe it’s a top notch league. You wouldn’t play this quality week-in, week-out in any other League.
“If we can get somewhere close to Cockhill, who are the bench mark, we know we’re going in the right direction.”
