THERE’S more than one clash of Donegal and Mayo taking place this coming Saturday.
While the senior footballers are meeting Mayo in the All-Ireland quarter-final at Croke Park on Saturday evening, the U-21 hurlers have an afternoon appointment with the Connacht sides – throw-in at O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny is 2pm.
Donegal overcame Tyrone 1-11 to 0-11 to win the All-Ireland U-21C championship at Celtic Park last Sunday week having defeated Sligo 0-16 to 0-15 in the semi-final a week beforehand.
“If you’re going to compete at this level you have to win,” manager Paddy Flood (pictured above with Tom Hennessy and Paddy Lennon) said. “Moral victories are just no good.”
