FINN HARPS enter the play-off lottery again tonight when they take on UCD at Belfield.
It is the seventh time for the Ballybofey club to be involved in the play-offs and the one constant for the previous six is long-time physio Mickey McGlynn.
The Milford man was there in 1994 when Harps lost to Cobh Ramblers and in 1995 when a gut-wrenching penalty shoot-out went awry against Athlone Town at St Mel’s Park.
Three-in-a-row losses in the early noughties followed against Longford Town, Galway United and Derry City before Harps finally broke their hoodoo in 2007 when they got promoted via a play-off win over Waterford United.
“They’ve all been nail-biting,” McGlynn told Donegal Sport Hub.
“There is so little between ourselves and UCD. People all speak about being at home in the second leg – that’s all well and good so long as you’re still in the tie for the second leg.”
