GLENFIN HAVE BECOME play-off specialists and Liam Ward’s team repeated their party piece on Saturday night at The Scarvey.
In torrid conditions, Glenfin overcame Burt to retain their spot in Division 2 for next year.
It was the fourth play-off in recent years for Glenfin to be involved in having survived two Championship relegation play-offs and a League relegation play-off previously.
They were prime candidates for the drop a month ago, but they completed The Great Escape on Saturday.
“We left ourselves with a mountain to climb,” Ward told Donegal Sport Hub.
“We’d have been favourites for relegation with three games to go, but the boys stayed with it. We owe those players a big debt of graditude.
“We felt that it was key to stay up and get the young boys experience of playing at this level.”
