LEO MCLOOONE was just 16 when he appeared as a substitute against St Eunan’s in the 2005 county final.
It was the year Naomh Conaill won Dr Maguire for the first time and McLoone was one of an emerging crop who took the county by storm.
Since then, Naomh Conaill won the title again in 2005, but were beaten by St Eunan’s in the deciders of 2009 and 2012.
Now, McLoone is the Naomh Conaill as the clubs prepare for battle again.
“It’s just mighty to be in the final,” he said.
“Finals are very hard to get to and are very hard to win. We still have two Championship medals and we’re hoping to add to that.”
