SEAMUS BROWNE says Bonagee United won’t take much of a Christmas break as they bid to maintain a challenge in the Ulster Senior League.
The win, thanks to goals by Darek Frankowski, Francesco Crisci and Dean Larkin, came in Bonagee’s final game before the USL’s festive recess.
“It’s taken us a while to get going, but we’ll stay about now and maybe get a few games in,” Browne said.
[adrotate group=”80″]“If we lost tonight, we were out of it completely. It’d be a long League campaign if you had nothing to play for. At least, we want the second spot.”
The former Finn Harps striker is Peter Moran’s number 2, but stood in last night in place of the suspended Moran.
The game was scoreless until Frankowski broke the deadlock early in the second half.
[adrotate group=”88″]Browne said: “We made it look uncomfortable when people weren’t willing to get on the ball and move forward with it. We had a good chat at half-time and they stepped up three or four levels in the second half.
“We went at them in the second half and were very comfortable after the second goal went in.”
