MICHAEL Molloy, the Kilcar manager, is expecting a real battle when his side meet Termon in Towney with Group 4’s top spot up for grabs.
Despite playing without Patrick McBrearty, Eoin McHugh and Conor McShane, Kilcar overcame south-west rivals Killybegs on Saturday evening 1-15 to 2-04.
Brendan McGuire’s early goal gave Killybegs a little hope, but when Mark McHugh drilled in a goal on the stroke of half-time it was the fuel that Kilcar’s fire needed.
“We always knew it would be tough because Killybegs are quite defensive in their set up but we played quite well,” Molloy told Donegal Sport Hub.
“The goal just before half time was a boost. We were struggling for scores, but we played well after that.”
After Termon’s draw with Naomh Muire, it sets up a big tussle in Towney this weekend.
Molloy said: “We’re taking nothing for granted. We’ve had nothing easy and we expect nothing different next week.”
