KEVIN CASSIDY WAS part of the Gaoth Dobhair team that opened the All-County League with a share of the spoils against St Eunan’s yesterday.
An entertaining contest at Magheragallon ended 3-14 to 3-14 with Gavin McBride, who scored 1-7 in all, slotting home an injury time penalty to ensure the draw. And it’s the likes of the new wave that Cassidy hopes can drive the Gaeltacht club to the next level.
“Not to get beat on the first day was a good thing,” Cassidy said. “Gavin is a massive player for this club now. We had James Gallagher here for years and if you have a player that can score five, six or seven points a year then you’ve a chance.”
