CARNDONAGH Community School manager Sammy Bogan says his team won’t settle for anything other than an All-Ireland medal.
A 1-0 win over Scoil Mhuire, Buncrana today secured the Ulster Senior Schools title for the Carndonagh scholars – and Bogan hopes his side can get over their All-Ireland semi-final hoodoo, when they meet the Connacht champions next week.
[adrotate group=”53″]Aoife McColgan, Rachel McLaughlin, Shania McGonigle, Lauren Cregan and Niamh McDaid are all in their final year – and have tasted enough semi defeats to last a lifetime.
“It would be awesome if we could push on to the All-Ireland semi and get over our stumbling block,” Bogan said.
“They’re a great bunch of girls.
[adrotate group=”46″]“I’m happy for the girls and proud they’ve done themselves justice.
“Five of the team that started today are in their final year. They have all been to semi-finals and lost, but we’re more confident now.
“These girls said they wouldn’t settle for anything less than an All-Ireland medal.”
