PADDY MCFADDEN HAILED Glenswilly’s pride after they defeated Ardara to win their first ever Senior Reserve Championship title yesterday.
The Glenswilly captain drew breath after his team just about stemmed an Ardara tide in added time when points by Shane Carberry and Christopher McMonagle secured the 1-8 to 0-9 win.
Carberry had netted the only goal of the game in the 34th minute and while Glenswilly lost their way, allowing Ardara pull level, the Foxhall men took the win.
“We’re a small club with a big heart and we’ll always go to the final whistle,” McFadden told Donegal Sport Hub.

“I was worried, but I knew that we had it in is.”
The Glenswilly captain heaped praise on the likes of Brian ‘Shorty’ McDaid, John ‘Brockagh’ McFadden and Charley Bonner, the veterans of the team.
He said: “Some of them are touching 40, but they’re getting better with age. It would be easy for these boys to pack it in, but it shows how much pride they have in the club and the parish.”
