TERMON GOT THEÂ defence of their Ulster SFC off to a winning start this afternoon, with a 3-15 to 1-4 win over St Paul’s from Belfast at the Burn Road.
Francie Friel’s team showed their ruthlessness in front of goal having conceded an early goal to Kirsty McGuinness to run out 17-point winners. Now, there’s an Ulster semi-final to look forward to in two weeks’ time for the reigning All-Ireland champions.
“We managed to move through the gears,” Friel said. “It’s knockout football and the first round of Ulster and we’ve moved on now. We’ll take it one game at a time. We’ll need to improve and move it up a level.”
Afterwards, Francie Friel spoke to Alan Foley. Listen to the interview in full below …
