FIONA DEENEY hailed her Deele College team after today’s Ulster final loss to Carndonagh Community School.
“They played excellent and I’m very proud of them,” Deeney told Donegal Sport Hub.
“Every girl played their heart out but it wasn’t to be our day. They all gave their all. Things just didn’t happen for us.
“Hopefully we can come back stronger next year. Deele will be back. We expect and hope to be in another Ulster final next year.”
The absence of midfield maestro Tyler Toland through injury proved fatal to the Raphoe school’s hopes.
Deeney said: “Tyler was a massive loss for the team.”
