DONEGAL FULL-BACK Emer Gallagher was glad to see her side overcame a poor start in their victory over Clare yesterday.
The visitors to Fr Tierney Park scored a goal inside of a minute but Michael Naughton’s team steadied themselves to win comfortably in the end.
The 4-11 to 2-5 success means Donegal are now five from five in the Lidl Ladies NFL League Division 2. However, Gallagher says despite a fine start last year, Donegal failed to win promotion when they went down to Armagh in the play-off at Parnell Park. So this year it’s a matter of not making the same mistake again.

“We fell at the last hurdle last year and we promised ourselves it won’t happen again this year,” she said in Fr Tierney Park yesterday. “The League is the priority for now and we’ll look at the Championship after. We’re not going to be happy unless we get promoted.”
