EAMON DUFFY HAILED A FANTASTIC season for the Illies Golden Gloves club at the Donegal Boxing Board’s annual awards night on Saturday.
Darryl Moran was named as the Best Senior Boxer on the night and received the Harry ‘Kid’ Duffy Memorial Cup.
Moran won the Irish Intermediate title last December and was inches away from a bronze medal at the European Youth Championships, where he was beaten on a split decision by England’s Niall Farrell.
John Moran, Darryl’s brother, was the recipient of the Billy ‘Spider’ Kelly Memorial Cup for Best Youth Boxer of the season and the Illies club was named as the Club of the Year.
