DONEGAL KEPT THEIR interest going in the North-West Under-21 Cup this afternoon in Letterkenny.
Declan Bonner’s side had Ciaran Thompson to thank for an injury-time winning score in the 1-9 to 1-8 success over Mayo – it means that Mayo are in the final next weekend and they will be joined by Donegal, unless Fermanagh overcome Sligo by 10 points in the last match of the group series.
“We wanted to see where we were at,” Bonner said afterwards. “There were plenty of positives and we had the senior lads back. The lads are prepared to put in that work.
“We’ve 42 players on that panel and that will be knocked down to 32. It’s good to get games against quality opposition and we’d love another game against Mayo next week.”
