COUNCILLOR BARRY O’Neill says the ‘inclusive’ nature of the Donegal Sports Star Awards is what makes them stand apart.
The 41st Donegal Sports Star Awards takes place this Friday night in the Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny, with a sell-out crowd of around 700 again set to be in attendance.
Finn Valley AC stalwart Patsy McGonagle, who has led the Irish Athletics team to four Olympic Games as Manager, is the special guest on the night.
“It is very inclusive to recognise these sportspeople – and rightly so,” Councillor O’Neill said.
“They may not be mainstream sports, but they have to get the platform for recognition. This is a platform for recognition of participation and achievement.”
