EAMON MCGEE, the Clerk of the Course for the 2016 Joule Donegal International Rally, has appealed for spectators to obey marshals and ensure a safe event this weekend.
The Gaoth Dobhair man is now in his fifth year as COC, having succeeded Danny Gormley for the 2012 event.
A huge crowd of motorsport enthusiasts has flocked to Donegal for the weekend and McGee has issued a plea.
“We want everyone to be safe,” he told Donegal Sport Hub.
“I would plead for everyone to abide by the marshals. You could have 5 or 6,000 people on a stage and we don’t want them missing out because of one or two.”
McGee, who has also been Chief Marshal and Timing Co-Ordinator for the event, was speaking from the Rally Office at the Mount Errigal Hotel, which is a hive of activity. Praising his team, McGee said: “It’s unbelievable the amount of people we have here. No-one realises the work these people do from 7 o’clock in the morning.”
