CHRISTY TOYE HOPES THAT a first-ever All-County League Division 1 title can spur St Michael’s to bigger things.
Toye was captain of the St Michael’s side that took this year’s League and, after Saturday’s win over St Eunan’s, he was presented with the Democrat Cup by Donegal County Chairman Sean Dunnion.
“It’s great achievement for the club,” Toye told Charlie Collins of Donegal Sport Hub.

“A lot of lads played down the years in the jersey who never played senior football, never mind win a title. We’re very fortunate to be a part of the squad that has achieved this.”
St Michael’s lost a Championship final to Glenswilly in 2011 and have been beaten by St Eunan’s at the semi-final stage in the last two years.
Toye said: “Hopefully winning this will give us a bit of confidence to improve again. We got to the semi-final last year and this year in the Championship.”
