CHRISTOPHER MORROW BELIEVES Friday nights’ Under-21 ‘B’ final win over Naomh Colmcille could be a seminal moment for Glenfin.
Stephen Ward’s goal in the second half helped the Pairc Taobhoige residents to a 1-8 to 0-5 win in Convoy, where goalkeeper Andrew Walsh was another of the heroes.
Morrow was part of a Glenfin team that lost the 2003 Under-21 ‘A’ final to St Eunan’s, having won it the previous year against Aodh Ruadh.
Glenfin have been devoid of much success, but they’ve ended their 40th anniversary year on a winning note.
“This is a club that hasn’t achieved what it should have, but we have a good group of players coming,” Morrow said after the win.
“We always play attack minded. We have the handbreak lifted and there is no fear in Glenfin anymore. It’s a chance for us to kick on as a club and push on for Division 1.”
