TOMMY HOURIHANE DELVED into history to outline just what yesterday’s capturing of the All Sports Intermediate Football Championship title meant for Bundoran.
Hourihane played a captain’s role, kicking 1-5 as Bundoran eased to victory over Naomh Colmcille.
“Take away the great St Joseph’s team: we have three senior, two intermediates and a junior – for a proud club like Bundoran, this means a lot,” Hourihane told Donegal Sport Hub.

“We had a tight game against Ballintra and another tight game against Aodh Ruadh, who put us to the pin of the collar. We got over the line there and we knew that we needed to start fast today.
“We hadn’t done that all year, but we knew we had 60 minutes in us.”
After a year away, Bundoran are back in the senior championship again. They played four years of senior football after winning the Intermediate title last in 2010.
Their senior experience helped them in yesterday’s facile win.
Hourihane said: “In championship football you have to be relentless. Teams like Glenswilly, St Michael’s and Kilcar don’t let up on you. We were drumming that into the boys all week there.”
