BUNDORAN MANAGER BRIAN GAVIGAN was sweating on Jamie Brennan’s fitness yesterday morning, but the Donegal Under-21 forward was the hero of the hour as they defeated Aodh Ruadh to reach the Intermediate Championship final.
Brennan netted an 11th minute goal, but Bundoran netted a last-ditch score from Brennan to win the tie after Seamus Kane and David McGurrin goaled for the Ballyshannon men.
“Jamie is a very talented footballer, but he had a fitness test this morning,” Gavigan told Donegal Sport Hub.
“He wasn’t feeling the best, but he came through it and we’re glad to have him in the first fifteen.
“Ballyshannon gave us everything they had and they put a lot of pressure on us, but we got over the line and we’re happy to be in the Intermediate final. The boys fought hard.
“The group of lads are very capable of winning the Championship. Having the favourites tag doesn’t make a difference.
