BRIAN BELL IS DELIGHTED to be back as the manager of Quigleys Point Swifts.
The ‘Point’ enjoyed a bright start to the new season but they were hammered 4-0 by Glengad United last Sunday in a top-of-the-table clash.
A repeat fixture this Sunday at the School Field in Muff whets the appetites in the Clubman Shirts League Cup semi-final.
Bell guided QPS to two Ulster Senior League titles in 2001/02 and 2002/03 and has had some time away from the club before making his return.
“I should never have been away,” he told Donegal Sport Hub.
“The Ulster Senior League days were fantastic times. I’m delighted that I was asked back. I’m absolutely enjoying it.”
On Sunday, Paddy McDermott (2), Seamus Doherty and Matthew Byrne netted for Glengad and Bell hopes his side will have learned valuable lessons.
He said: “We have a lot of growing up to do. You can’t keep making excuses about young players. If they want to play and compete, they have to take this on the chin and get back to work.”
