FINN HARPS manager Ollie Horgan admits that he would like a ‘couple more’ additions, but says his panel is in line with the club’s budget.
With three teams being relegated from the top flight in 2017, to make way for the ten-team Premier Division in 2018, Harps’ task got a whole lot harder.
Signings Killian Cantwell, Caolan McAleer, Danny Morrissey and Ciaran O’Connor all played from the start, while Horgan gave trialists Thomas Amegnaglo, Aizi Nahanod and Jamie Dunne appearances off the bench.
“We have 14 or 15 senior players. The rest of the panel is made up of under-19s. We’re a bit light, but it’s possibly what we can afford,” Horgan said.
[adrotate group=”46″]“We can’t afford a big panel. I’d like to get a couple more in.
“They need to kick on and improve. The League has got harder with Limerick and Drogheda coming up and it gets tougher with three teams going down. We’re a long way off where we’d like to be, but we have 33 games ahead of us.”
O’Connor, from a penalty, and Morrissey scored the goals in the win that gets Harps off and running in pre-season.
