ANN MARIE MCGLYNN has just returned from injury and already has her sights set on getting back into the Irish singlet.
In December, the Letterkenny AC woman captained Ireland to a European Cross Country bronze medal in Bulgaria, when she combined with Fionnuala Britton, Sara Treacy and Michelle Finn to get the team onto the podium.
Trials for the 2015 European Cross Country Championships will be held at the end of November.
McGlynn was the first woman home in last Sunday’s Donegal 5k Road Championships in Letterkenny, when she ran 16:40 to finish 14th overall.
“5k is hard because it’s gun to tape,” she told Donegal Sport Hub.
“I’m only back in training for three weeks. This race was in the programme as part of my training so I was just out to run.
“My summer was cut short because I was in and out with injury. The big aim now is to peak for the last week in November.”
