DARREN MCELWAINE WAS the right man in the right place for Letterkenny Rovers this afternoon at the Aura Centre.
The club captain stabbed home his side’s second goal against Midleton from Cork in the FAI Intermediate Cup fourth round tie – essentially the winner in the 2-1 victory for the side managed by Eamon McConigley.

“I got that bit of luck and we’re delighted to get over the line,” McElwaine said afterwards. “Midleton made life difficult for us but i thought we stood up well. We’re delighted. It seemed to take eternity for it to be drawn in. It’s definitely made January shorter.”
