ARDAL MCDERMOTT will be ratified as the new manager of Doengal’s senior hurlers at Monday night’s September county committee meeting.
The Burt clubman and former Donegal player, who retired in 2012, will take over the reins from Ray Durack, who guided Donegal to success in the Nicky Rackard Coup courtesy of a victory over Roscommon at Croke Park two years ago.
McDermott was a part of Durack’s backroom team with the Donegal hurlers in 2013, but stepped away to succeed Ronan McLaughlin as the Burt boss.
Burt are aiming for a fifth successive title on Saturday week, September 12, when they face Sean MacCumhaill’s in Letterkenny in the final of the Donegal SHC.
The Donegal minor and under-21 managerial positions are still up for nomination.
